Meet Jimmy Kibble, a handsome, adventure-ready boy with the cutest ears you’ve ever seen and a heart full of enthusiasm. Jimmy is house-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and is very treat-motivated—he proudly offers an automatic sit like a total pro. He’s smart, eager to learn, and clearly enjoys engaging with his people.
Jimmy can be a little shy at first, but once he’s had a moment to warm up, his sweet and gentle personality shines through. He loves affection, enjoys pets, and is happiest spending time with his humans. He’s a classic “dog’s dog” with medium-to-high energy who loves romping in the yard, playing chase, shaking around plush toys, and sniffing his way along trails and neighborhood walks.
In his foster home, Jimmy has been an excellent house guest. He’s had zero accidents and settles well when left alone, choosing to lounge on the couch or snooze quietly. He may give a brief bark when his people first leave, but he quickly relaxes and continues to improve each day. He’s also crate-trained and even puts himself to bed around 8 p.m.—a true routine king.
Jimmy is a great leash walker and, while he can get excited when he sees other dogs or friendly people, he’s easily redirected and making steady progress. When he’s feeling extra playful, he may jump or get a little mouthy, but this is gentle, happy energy that responds well to redirection and toys. He’s already mastering “down” and shows strong potential with continued training and structure.
Jimmy Kibble has met other dogs at BARCS and tends to do best with female dog friends. He would benefit from thoughtful dog introductions and continued guidance to help him build positive canine friendships. Any potential dog siblings should meet him first to ensure a good match.
Jimmy is currently thriving in a foster home and ready for a family who will embrace his playful spirit, continue his training, and include him in everyday adventures. In return, he offers loyalty, enthusiasm, and a whole lot of love.
If you’d like to learn more or meet Jimmy Kibble, please email dogfosters@barcs.org to be connected with his foster family.

If you don’t see what you are looking for, please visit our shelter to meet your perfect match today! Adoption fees are $75; however, we offer several adoption packages listed here. Our adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Our adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Step 1: Check out the adoptable cats, dogs and small companion animals listed on our website.** Animals with a blue “I’m in Foster” banner are not currently in our shelter. See below for our adoption process for animals in foster homes.
Step 2: Visit our shelter during adoption hours (Monday-Friday 2-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.). When you arrive, you will first be asked to fill out our Shelter Adoption Application with your information. You may also pre-fill our Shelter Adoption Application ahead of time online to save time when you are at the shelter. Your application will be processed after you meet the animal.
Step 3: Tour our adoption rooms and write down the names of animals that you would like to meet. A volunteer or staff member will help you meet your chosen animals to make a match!
Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.
What else to expect: Animals who are already spayed/neutered and past their stray hold (if applicable) can often go home with you the same day. Pick-up arrangements for unaltered animals and/or animals still on a stray hold will be made during your adoption class.
**Please note: Animals listed on our adoption pages may still be on stray hold and pending reunion with their owners, or have an existing pending adoption application.
