Meet Radar 7 — a joyful, high-energy lovebug with big puppy vibes and an even bigger heart. Radar is a cheerful, affectionate, people-loving boy whose personality truly shines in a foster home. Outside of the shelter, he is calmer, sweeter, and deeply cuddly — the kind of dog who wants to be close to his person at all times. Whether he’s laying right next to you, following you from room to room, or curling up for a snuggle, Radar thrives on human connection. He has a fun “0 to 100 and back to 0” energy style: bursts of excitement followed by total relaxation.
Radar is very much house-trained and does best with a consistent routine, which he currently has in foster. He is excellent in his crate and genuinely enjoys it — often choosing to go inside on his own when he’s tired or wants a break. When left alone, he settles easily and snoozes peacefully, showing no signs of stress or anxiety.
Radar’s energy level is high overall, and he loves staying active. He goes on multiple walks each day and recently enjoyed hiking at a nearby park. On leash, he’s made noticeable improvements and continues to get more comfortable walking with a handler. He is enthusiastic and curious, with a strong interest in squirrels and other exciting sights. He can pull due to excitement, especially when he wants to greet others, but a harness helps significantly. He’s very food-motivated and eager to learn, making him a great candidate for continued leash training.
Radar absolutely adores people — truly everyone. He greets strangers with full-body enthusiasm, tail wagging hard and excitement turned all the way up, even for delivery drivers. Because of this, he can be jumpy when saying hello and will benefit from continued work on polite greetings. Supervision around small children is recommended to prevent accidental knock-overs. Once he settles, though, he is incredibly affectionate, gentle, and devoted.
Radar has met other dogs at BARCS and prefers chase-style play with canine friends. He would like to meet any potential resident dogs to ensure a good match.
He knows “stay,” enjoys enrichment activities, and is an extreme chewer who needs durable, power-chewer-approved toys (soft toys won’t last!). One of his favorite “toys” is actually his cone, which he happily carries around. Radar is smart, outgoing, and eager — he just needs guidance to help channel his enthusiasm. Radar 7 is a fun-loving, extroverted dog who brings joy everywhere he goes. Wit

If you don’t see what you are looking for, please visit our shelter to meet your perfect match today! Adoption fees are $75; however, we offer several adoption packages listed here. Our adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
