Radar 7 is a cheerful, affectionate, people-loving boy whose true personality shines in a foster home. Outside of the shelter environment, Radar is calmer, sweeter, and deeply cuddly — the kind of dog who wants to be close to his people and soak up all the love he can get. Whether he’s lounging on the couch, laying right on top of you, or happily tagging along on walks, Radar thrives on connection and companionship.
In his foster home, Radar appears to be housebroken and does very well with a consistent routine. Radar is also excellent in his crate — he’s extremely comfortable in his crate, walks right in on his own, and settles immediately without fuss. When left alone, he relaxes easily and shows no signs of distress.
Radar loves his walks, though he does pull consistently on leash, especially when he sees people, squirrels, or other dogs. His excitement comes from enthusiasm and curiosity, not fear or reactivity. He is very food-motivated and responds well to redirection, making continued leash training very manageable with consistency and patience.
This social butterfly loves meeting people and has greeted many adults and children during walks and adoption events. He gets equally excited about everyone and can be jumpy and mouthy when meeting new folks, especially in stimulating environments. Because of this, Radar will need continued work on polite greetings and would do best with supervision around smaller children to prevent accidental knock-overs. At home, however, he’s noticeably calmer — sweet, affectionate, and content to cuddle.
Radar already knows “sit” and is working on “down.” He’s a smart boy who wants to please and enjoys learning, especially when treats are involved. When it comes to play, Radar has some important preferences: he’s an extreme chewer and needs durable toys designed for power chewers. Soft toys don’t stand a chance!
Radar 7 is a loving, enthusiastic, cuddly companion who just needs the right home to see past first impressions and appreciate who he truly is once he settles in. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow with a big heart and lots of personality, Radar might be your guy.
If you’re interested in meeting Radar 7, please complete an application and email dogfosters@barcs.org for next steps.
I`m a VIP because I`m still learning, and the shelter can be a tough place for dogs like me to shine. But I’ve got a whole team cheering me on!
