My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: St. Augustine, Florida
DOB: 08/15/2022

I sure am glad you found me!! I have been LOOKING for YOU!!!

My name is Lucy and my foster mom says I am FABULOUS!

I am a super smart Dane mix. My foster mom gives me puzzle feeders to solve (which I do) and I’m learning to “talk” on these fun buttons that I press. It’s so cool! It’s really helping me to learn my manners. I have Sit and Wait down pat.

I am still sort of a puppy which means I have a lot of energy and still do dumb puppy stuff like nibble and lick and jump. I think it would be best if I was in an active household where I could play, play, play and a home with older children (5 years old and older) who could run and play and be silly with me. A home with another dog or two would be super fun, not just to play with, but to look up to and kind of show me the ropes.

Are you wondering if I’m housetrained? The short answer is - yes. Am I good at going potty outside every time? The long answer is - yeeeeeeeeesssssss.

My kennel is kept in my foster mom’s bedroom which I really like. I sleep good in there and sometimes I will even take a nap in there. Aren’t naps great?

I’ve even been lucky enough to be around people in wheelchairs and my foster mom says I’ve done great with that. I’m not scared of them at all. I just walk right next to them and give them space to do their thing.

Did I mention I love to cuddle and snuggle too? I am an “attention hound”. Bonus!

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are scattered all over the United States in many different states. Scheduling a meeting would not be a problem. We hold many events throughout the year. You can find the latest news on our facebook page or website.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
