My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2/1/26 Kane is a 5-year-old who’s just come back to us after a couple of years, as his adopter had to go into hospice care. We’re still getting to know him again, but so far we know he enjoys his walks and is very treat-motivated.
He can be a bit wary when meeting new people and needs some time to build trust. Once he feels safe with you though, he’s a very sweet boy.
Kane will need an experienced, Doberman-savvy owner who understands the breed and its quirks.

5/17/23  Our Mr KANE is crushing his goals over at board and train. This smart sweet 2 year old boy is described by his trainer as a kind and loving dober boy who loves to give paw especially if a nylabone is involved. He craves affection, loves going for long walks , and is extremely gentle with other dogs. No matter what the dog we brought out KANE always wanted to kiss or play with them. He would do very well with a female in the house. He is very clean in the house and in his kennel and not destructive in any way. He is a calm boy who likes to relax but has spurts of energy and is definitely treat motivated. KANE would do best with an experienced Doberman owner who understands the breed and their quirks.

1/28/23 Kane is good with other dogs, but very shy and unsure with people. He is still being evaluated and will need an experienced foster or owner. More updates soon.

Not every dog is available for adoption or need a foster - some are wards of the rescue (usually due to medical reasons, but sometimes behavioral). These dogs will always be supported by DRL. We welcome financial support for these dogs. Here are links to foster and adoption applications for those dogs who need a foster home or adoptive home.
