Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Freckles is approx a one year old beagle/hound mix. He was originally brought to a kill shelter as a stray and was adopted from that shelter however the adopter was older and could not handle a young dog like Freckles. She was unable to fully house train him inside and became frustrated enough to want to rehome him. Freckles is a super sweet boy and is a typical hound. Nose is to the ground or in the air catching a scent. He is friendly and social with other dogs and seems to be an easy going,laid back boy who would do well with children also. We are not sure how he would be with cats. Freckles does walk on a leash. He is not fond of being crated as we crated him on the ride to the vet and he whined some. He seems to enjoy people and attention a lot and will be a fun dog to take on walks and adventures. Freckles will need to be housebroken as that was really the only issue that we are aware of in his orevious home and, most likely, the time or consistency just wasnt put in.
Please plan to train Freckles as we wouldnt want him returned for a reason such as that. In addition,some hounds can be very vocal but we have not seen that out of Freckles. He has been fairly quiet and is not a barker or a howler. Freckles may not have had an easy start but he hopes that this go around is forever for him and that he never has to end up in a shelter ever again.
Freckles saw the vet on 8/25/23. No issues were noted on his exam. He tested negative for heartworms and on his fecal also. He is in good health. He weighed 36.2 pounds as of 8/25/23.

Freckles's adoption fee will be $175 to help cover the cost of his vetting and daily care while with us. We will only consider applicants who complete the adoption application and will determine whether the applicant would be a good fit for Freckles based on the info provided in the application. If we feel that you will be a good match for him, we will set up a meet and greet appointment with you.
