CALL FOR DETAILS
Ruby is available for adoption in a foster home. If you're interested in adopting her, please call us at 619-299-7012.

How this pet arrived:
Ruby was brought in by her previous owner on July 26, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Ruby, the stunning and distinguished tortoiseshell cat! This shy but sweet gal is searching for a patient and understanding home where she can blossom at her own pace. Preferring the coziness of a home over the shelter environment, Ruby is eager go to a home where she can have time to settle in and form deep bonds with her new family. While not a lap cat, she enjoys being in close proximity to her favorite people and will gladly accept gentle petting and brushing. Ruby finds joy in observing (and chatting to) birds outside the window and engaging in the occasional playful antics, especially during her nightly zoomies. Want to win her over? Treats are the key to her heart, providing an excellent opportunity to build a lasting bond with this endearing cat. Ruby is ready to add a touch of warmth and charm to your life, one purr at a time!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
