My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jersey City, NJ - Wouldn’t it be nice if it were summer all year long? With sweet baby June in your life, it would be! Precious young June is a beautiful mixed breed and everyone can’t help but comment on her cuteness when she is out for a walk. One year old June weighs 44 lbs, and is good with other dogs. Just a puppy, poor June found herself tied to a fence with another dog and abandoned, fearfully hiding under a nearby car in Brooklyn. June then spent 3 months in a scary shelter, with an uncertain fate, until even worse news came her way – June is heartworm positive. Although heartworm is very treatable, without that treatment, June would not survive. Luckily, AmsterDog was able to secure a loving foster home for this poor puppy growing up in an overcrowded shelter. For the first time in her life, June is receiving the medical attention she needs and learning how to be a proper dog. And she is so willing! June has a sweet, happy personality and loves being around people. She likes to be close to you, often falling asleep at your side with her head in your lap. A morning with June is filled with happy wiggles, cuddles, and lots of kisses! She is incredibly smart, house-trained and obedient. June comes when you call her and understands “sit”, “no” and “come”. June loves to go on walks – sniffing, exploring, even paddling in the Hudson River! This friendly gal is not reactive to people or dogs while walking, but instead wants to say hello to everyone! Outwardly, she is a very confident young lady, but she does need an adopter who understands that she is still young and can get a bit excited at times. But isn’t that just a sign of how full of life and love this sweet girl is?
Her foster mom tells us, "June is a wonderful little girl who loves cuddles, and kisses and with structure and reassurance, she will make an amazing dog and get the love and dedication she deserves."
Although June’s heartworm treatment is going well and her prognosis is good – meaning she will be absolutely fine with no future complications afterwards – she unfortunately can not be spayed until the treatment is completed. All of these medical costs will be paid for by AmsterDog, and June will be in tip top shape (and spayed) in no time! She can’t wait to be part of a family; she looks at you adoringly with love in her eyes and wants to know if that could be with you. Her adorable antics will make you smile, she just wants to make you happy! June would love to play with you and give you affection every day, and welcome you home with her wiggles and kisses!
