Lemon was found living under a deck in Lawrenceville with his mama and five siblings. Mama kitty unknowingly chose the right backyard, because the whole family was brought inside to safety.
All of the babies in the litter were "spicy" because they showed up just beyond that time frame in which kittens become easily adapted to humans. But they have all made remarkable progress and have turned into respectable and upstanding young gentlemen! Lemon can still sometimes be a bit of a sour puss, hence the name Lemon, but he's mostly all talk!
Despite his reservations, Lemon does LOVE the indoor life! He loves all of his siblings and would love to be adopted with one of his remaining brothers, Eddie or Houdini (or to a home with another welcoming resident kitty who can help show him the ropes!). Lemon is quite comfortable getting close to his foster family and even likes to lay in bed and take naps with his humans - but he will still jump away when the humans move too fast. If you move slowly enough, Lemon can be petted and especially enjoys pets around the face and neck, but he's still a little skeptical about the other body parts, or about being picked up - yikes!
The person who will take Lemon into their home will need to be patient and set him up in a small room to start. He can still be a bit hissy at first. He would do best with adults or older, very patient and cat-savvy kids. Young children aren't likely to be impressed by him, and vice versa!
Lemon is about a year old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. Lemon might be a bit of a sour puss, but he has shown that he has a GOOD heart, and he responds well to your sweetness. Do you have the time and patience to help turn Lemon into Lemonade? Please apply today!

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
