My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good Morning, Biscuit Check!
THIS BEAUTIFUL GIRL IS BACK ON THE MARKET AFTER SURVIVNG A COYOTE ATTACK! SHE IS QUITE LITERALLY A LIFESAVER, SAVING HER FOSTER SISTER! SHE IS IN PERFECT SHAPE AND LET US TELL YOU SHE HAS BECOME THE MOST FUN, SPUNKY GIRL THROUGH HER HEALING. WE CANNOT WAIT TO SEE HER THRIVE IN HER FOREVER HOME!!
Meet Mama Biscuit! In September, we got a frantic call that a mama and her 3 babies were in desperate need of rescue. Mama had been found in a park; protecting her babies by the local animal control. Once in the shelter, she deteriorated rapidly not letting anyone touch her, the babies or clean her kennel. This is a problem at an overcrowded shelter- she and her babies were at risk of euthanasia. So our team rushed in and Muttz Realty stepped up to foster her in their office, which would give her some privacy and space to learn to trust while raising her babies. Time is what she needed and boy has she grown. Her babies have all gone on to their happy ever after and now, Mama B is ready for her new beginning!

Some details on her:
* Mama B is about 60 lbs and roughly 2-3 years old (we think).
* She can be cautious in new environments but has come out of her shell more and more each day while in foster.
* Mama Biscuit absolutely adores the company of other dogs, and she thrives when she's in the presence of her furry friends.
* This gal is smart as well and is already both crate trained and potty trained.
* Walking on a leash is a new skill for her though, and she'll need to keep practicing to become a pro at it.

Her Ideal Home:
* A home where patience is a part of everyday life! Understanding and respecting the rule of 3's with dogs.
* One where she can continue to build her confidence and learn about how great life can be!
* She has had a blast with the resident pups in foster, and the perfect forever family would include a confident pup to show her the ropes.
* She does well with kiddos- actually likes them; but recommending kids that can respect dogs space.

Mama Biscuit is truly a one of a kind pup who is waiting for a family that can provide her with the security and comfort she needs to shine. She will undoubtedly bring so much joy and love to her future adopters with just a little bit of patience. She's made huge strides while in a foster home and is sure to keep progressing with her forever people by her side. Biscuit is looking for her forever family.

If you are looking to add a friend to your family, don't wait....apply here! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SFP-A-319.

Biscuit has an adoption fee of $325.00. She will have all of her shots, be dewormed, on heartworm preventatives and spayed.

More about this rescue

We are a foster based animal rescue in the Nashville area.

Our mission is to work as a shelter diversion for animals who are facing homelessness, through no fault of their own. We provide vet care, a foster and adoption for animals belonging to owners who are homeless or living below the poverty level, where rehoming is their only option.

The majority of SOARescue animals come to us through our big sister organization SAFPAW (Southern Alliance for People and Animal Welfare).
If you would like to learn more about SAFPAW and their weekly spay/neuter transport, homeless outreach program and women's post recovery home, please visit their website at www.safpaw.org.

If SOARescue has the capacity to aid with other strays or owner surrenders, we will gladly do so. Our goal is to help relieve pressure on the over-burdened shelter system.
