Rocco's foster mom and her family just adore him! His foster mom writes, "Rocco is a beautiful well mannered dog with a dark brindle coat. He seems proper because he sits tall and lays down with his front legs crossed. He will bark at a disturbance but he's not a constant barker. He is content to hang out with you. He likes to sleep in (not an early riser) but responds immediately if you show him the leash. He has run up to 3 miles! He's faster in the first mile.
He's fed when the family eats so he does not beg at the table. He is genuinely very calm, happy, sweet & loving.
He hasn't had a single accident in the house and knows how to sit. He loves to play with toys but is also a total cuddle bug when he wears himself out. He loves going for walks, playing fetch, bones, and treats! A very very well mannered, loving, and sweet boy.
Over the holidays last winter, he met lots of family and he was sweet to everyone and they loved him! He wanted as much attention as he could get, while also being curious and exploring new places. He was a pro at car rides. He did really well around children, and made a doggie friend Faye."
Rocco has been in our care since last October, and since then he has had his main foster mom Janet and her family, and a few temporary fosters when she is out of town. All of them rave about Rocco! He recently had a temp foster over Spring Break that took him on a 7 mile hike with her friends. She wrote that he loved playing with other dogs, kids, and all adults.
Rocco recently spent a few nights boarding at Wiggly Tails in Glenview where he loved play group with dozens of doggie friends!
Rocco can be strong on a leash and because he is so social, he may bark at other dogs on leash because he wants to say hello! Rocco needs an owner who doe snot leave for long stretches at a time, as he struggles being left along for long periods but does well crated for a couple of hours here and there.
Rocco has so many wonderful qualities, we know his perfect person (or family!) is out there!
Rocco's adoption fee is $250. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
