My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET KLEIN!

This sweet semi-old man is the total package between his endearing face and sweet personality. He was first found as a stray back in 2019 when he was brought to Philly’s animal control shelter and adopted out. Unfortunately, he ended up back in the shelter in 2023 after his adopter passed away. He's estimated to be around 8 years old now.

Klein was a volunteer favorite at the shelter because of his loving and gentle nature! He's now living large in foster care but looking for his forever people. He’s a huge snuggle bug and loves any kind of physical interaction. With that, he’s also totally fine being alone and doesn’t make a peep when he’s alone in his room. He’s house trained, crate trained, and a breeze on leash! Medically, Klein is in great shape for his age and just needs weekly medicated baths for his skin allergies, which he’s an absolute angel for!

This sweet boy is great with other dogs- his foster sibling is a female dog who can be particular about pup pals, and Klein respects her space so well! He also did great with a male dog for a week over thanksgiving, who he played with all week. Klein has met many strangers of all kinds, and always stays wiggly, wagging and goes right in for cuddles! If you’re looking for a loving goofball, Klein is your guy. He loves rolling around getting his back scratchies, and sometimes he accidentally falls off the couch when he’s doing this! He’s SUPER low energy. He could sleep all day and is soooo cute when he’s snoring away. Outside he enjoys doing a zoomie or two, but the couch is where he belongs!

Klein is looking for a loving home to spend his golden years. Klein would be an excellent addition to most families AND would make a great first-time pet! His only requirement is a home with lots of love and cuddles. You can also follow along with Klein’s journey on Instagram at @adoptwithakila.

Klein is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped! Interested in adopting him? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
