My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

John Grogan observed that “A person can learn a lot from a dog,
including friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty.” This makes us think of our wonderful Gibby!

Meet Gibby, our distinguished tuxedo gentleman with the high white collar! This charming mixed-breed dog, affectionately known as "the Gibster," is one year old weighs in at a solid 50 pounds. Gibby has been a beloved resident at our shelter, and he's ready to find his forever home.

Gibby is an all-around fun-loving companion with plenty of natural talent. He absolutely adores playing with his toys and often takes leisurely strolls around the grounds with a toy proudly held in his mouth. One of his favorite games is to hide his toy, during a volunteer walk, and return for it later, a playful activity that showcases his cleverness and joyful spirit.

Known for his affectionate nature, Gibby is the perfect buddy for those who cherish snuggles and gentle kisses. He thrives on companionship and loves it when someone sits beside him, holding him and providing comfort or just letting him rest at your feet. Gibby has a big heart and an even bigger capacity for love, making him a super good boy who deserves a loving home. He would do best in a home with older children who can appreciate his gentle demeanor and playful antics. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will fill your life with joy and affection, Gibby is your perfect match. Come meet this wonderful boy and see for yourself why he's such a beloved part of our shelter family.

If you have a fur buddy for Gibby bring him by the shelter so we can introduce them for compatibility.

Gibby is a favorite companion who lives in the moment and truly brightens our days! We love spending time with this truly special dog! Gibby's enthusiasm for each and every day inspires all of us!

One of our volunteers observes: "Gibby is my very favorite dog at the shelter! I love how he is so happy to see you when you reach his kennel, and how his tail wags nonstop while he holds his toy as he waits for you to leash him up for a walk. He is such wonderful company and such an awesome cuddle buddy!"

Another volunteer reports: "Gibby is such a bright spirit. He’s smart, fun, and well mannered. My gentleman in a tuxedo. I always see Gibby smile patiently for a walk. Love this boy! TONS."

Life with Gibby will be such a fun experience. Are you ready to begin the journey?

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
