My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Bentley & Deanie are at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego. ***

Bentley: brown tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 2/1/18, #18285
Deanie: gray tabby & white, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 4/1/22, #18799

Other cats: bonded & enjoy friends
Dogs: comfortable
Children: older kids probably okay

Bentley was taken in as a kitten by a rescue in the Imperial Valley. However, adoption opportunities are slim there, and though he was loved and cared for, Bentley just wasn't finding a home. Five years later, he transferred to The Rescue House. In foster care, he befriended Deanie, who had been born into a colony of homeless cats where the population was getting out of control. Once someone stepped in to help with spay/neuter, Deanie was one of the cats taken in. Since he had a lot of potential to be socialized, rather than release him, Deanie's rescuer worked with him and saw that potential unfold.

---Bentley is one of the main greeters at his foster home! He is a very sweet and easygoing boy who likes to say hello to everyone and is very affectionate. Bentley will follow you around and clearly communicate that he needs his petting time... he loves pets, oh pets are just marvelous. When you're holding him, Bentley will even give you hugs! He loves your company and will join you on the couch or bed for snuggles. Soft blankets and cozy cat beds are ever so comfortable. Bentley enjoys kick sticks, interactive wands, little soccer balls, and stuffed mice for his playtime, then will chill on a windowsill idly watching the birds outside. He has a soft meow and is overall a calm-natured and companionable kitty.
---Deanie is a calm sweet boy who is simply a really nice cat. He is a little cautious in new and unfamiliar situations, but once he gets his bearings he will quickly open up for your affection and attention. He's got the sweetest demeanor and he wins people over easily when he looks directly at you (and that teensy white spot on Deanie's nose is especially adorable). He's playful and especially loves feather toys, though will also sit peacefully by a window to do some lazy birdwatching. Deanie loves to be petted and he will accept lots of kisses on his head when you hold him. He's given us signs that he has the potential to be a real loving lap cat with his long-term people.
---Bentley and Deanie have forged a close friendship and MUST be adopted together.

Bentley and Deanie depend on each other and are happy to have a few other feline friends around. If given a proper introduction they would likely do well with cat-friendly canines. They've done well with cat-savvy tweens, though would prefer respectful children to be calmer and past the toddler age.

Bentley has met one soulmate in Deanie on his lifelong journey to find a forever family. Will you be the one to adopt these beautiful boys and give them the chance to spend the rest of their lives with you? You will be handsomely reward by these happy-natured kitties!
