My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET MEA!

Mea is a 15 year old Shih Tzu who joined the rescue when her former owners realized they didn't have time to care for a dog. She's been nothing but a joy ever since!

Mea's foster mom calls her 'the perfect child'. She is an easy going 6lb little lady who's always happy to go with the flow. She spends most of her days napping while her foster works from home. Her witching hours are 9am and 6pm when she will rise from her dog bed and start dancing around for food. Food is Mea's favorite thing in the world, and if she thinks there is a treat coming her way she will open her mouth wide with no questions asked. Fortunately this makes giving her medication a breeze. Mea is a very quiet dog who never barks and only makes noise when she's dreaming. She's partially blind and partially deaf though you'd never know it as she gets around perfectly fine.

Despite her age and blindness she leads her foster mom on walks around the block with no trouble. Mae does require a prescription kidney diet and daily medication for her liver which she takes no problem. Mea lives with and tolerates other dogs just fine, but overall she doesn't care much for them. She prefers her humans, and has never met a person she doesn't like.  She has zero behavioral issues, and is perfectly potty trained. Mea is proven to be a great travel buddy and has no issue with weekend trips to the beach. Overall she's a wonderful little pup who is just happy to be around their people joining them in whatever they do!

Mea is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Interested in adopting her? Visit cityofelderlylove.org to complete an online adoption questionnaire or email us at info@cityofelderlylove.org!
