My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INTRODUCING MISSY!

Missy is a short, stout gal who is about 10-12 months old and looks like she may be a border collie/aussie mix. Missy found herself in a rural shelter with more dogs than adopters and she was terrified! So she made her way to ADA, so we could get her ready for adoption!

Missy has learned to walk onleash and live in the house. She is great with other dogs and has been around children. She is still nervous and scared of new people and things. Missy will need a patient family who knows that she will need time to adjust to a new home and routine and may never be outgoing. She is looking for a home that is relatively quiet with a fenced in yard and at least one dog for her to model from and play with.

Missy is a cute, sweet and gently soul. We hope that we can find someone who sees her qualities and offers her the home and family she needs.

Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
