My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

This is Whitey.  He is one of THE OG cats of the shelter.  Born in 2013 to a feral mom in a colony of cats he and his siblings were raised in foster and their mom was TNR'd and released to the colony to live out her life in freedom.  Whitey and his siblings became part of the shelter system and they have all long since been adopted.  Whitey just was never chosen as a kitten or young cat even though he is super sweet, loving and affectionate.  Then along the way as the years went by Whitey struggled with some health issues and blood tests showed he likely had a liver condition.  We were told he probably wouldn't recover and would only get worse so we pulled him from the 'adoptable' list and just planned to let him live out the rest of his life in the comfort of his room at the shelter with his friends both cat and human.  Well as time has passed Whitey is still with us and except for some dental issues and a few bouts of not great stools he is for the most part just fine.  Overall he is still the super sweet, attention demanding love bug that he always has been.  So if you are interested in a sweet senior that has occasional tummy troubles but with the heart of gold maybe Whitey is your guy!  He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  As always our adoption fee for cats/kittens is free will to approved applicants.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
