My story

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org***

Sweet little Mary Ann was born summer of 2021 and lived in a foster home until she was old enough to join the kitties at the shelter.  Her transition was a slow one and she wasn't sure about all the strangers and everything going on but to know her silly self now you wouldn't ever guess!  She has taken over the job of 'helping' with litter box scooping and her favorite thing to do is to be flipped over for a tummy rub.  Mary Ann gets along great with the other cats in her room and is always playing with someone or something even if she can't find a toy a piece of fuzz can entertain her all morning long.  She is often seen hanging out with her equally silly sister Ginger.  The two love to run on the cat wheel together and make quite the pair!  Even though the two girls had been separated for awhile, it took no time at all for them to remember one another and become fast friends once again. Mary Ann is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  As always our cat and kitten adoption fee is free will to approved applicants.

More about this shelter

The ECAS is an all volunteer, no kill shelter. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome pets in need due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or from simply not being wanted! We started in 2010 due to a need in our community. We are currently a foster based organization and we are currently building our new shelter facility. We work hand in hand with other rescue and shelters in the area to help out when and where we are needed.
