This girl will be worth the read and time ...
Over the past few weeks, Katy has grown entirely at ease indoors with her foster family. Whether inside or out in the safely enclosed backyard, she blends in seamlessly with the other dogs - one would have no idea she was so fearful just a month ago.
Beyond the familiarity of her foster home, Katy still has much progress to make. She’s been practicing neighborhood walks, and her foster family recently started introducing her to community parks and public spaces like Petco.
Currently, Katy displays visible nervousness and anxiety, yet her willingness to face her fears without hiding demonstrates great promise.
With ongoing socialization, we remain hopeful that Katy will conquer her fear of meeting new people, which is her greatest and likely final, hurdle to overcome.

First Update (3/21): https://www.facebook.com/share/1nU36QhBLR1JQVZv/?mibextid=WC7FNe
While we anticipate her needs to continue to evolve, at this time we are looking for:
An experienced adopter or one willing to be patient and continue to work with her (willing to work with a behaviorist if needed)
Children in the home should be older and respectful of where she is at in her journey
A fenced in yard
A home with another confident dog (she loves other dogs, so adding her to a pack will be easy peasy on her end)
City living is not recommended at this time
Katy is almost entirely potty trained
Katy knows her name and comes inside when called
Katy does not need to be crated overnight but is crated when her foster family is not home. She is not destructive. She does use her crate as a safe space and while this can be comforting to her, allowing prolonged crate use would not be recommended. This can be discussed with the foster.
Katy’s foster is willing to provide initial support and guidance

Her bio will be updated regularly and we will post her progress to our main FB page as she hits milestones. Search for #katysadoptionjourney to see all of our updates. Stay tuned to watch this girl blossom.
