9-year-old Neo lived at PAWS-Coronado for a year hoping his forever family would discover him there. On March 13th, we scooped Neo up to help him find him a forever home.
It was clear that the PAWS staff loved Neo dearly and invested a lot of time into him. They got him great vet care, frequent breaks from kennel life with 'day fosters,' and it was tears all around watching him exit the shelter. His dino stuffie got to come along, too!
After only a few days at FFF, Neo was chosen to go on a Frosted Fling and lived in a home for the first time in over a year! He earned a rave review from his Fling Family:
"Neo really is the sweetest! He's very affectionate and extremely tolerant. He did a great job at the vet and greeted a field trip worth of kids outside! He was very calm for them and laid down for pets.
Neo is a chill boy but he LOVES walks! Once we got outside he was ready to go, usually starting quick with high energy to explore new smells. By the end of the walk he'd end up walking side by side with us. When we were hanging out in the yard he was happy to go sniff about for a little while then plant himself laying near us, or sit on the outdoor couch.
Neo came potty trained! We work from home so walked him often but if we were out of the house for a few hours we didn't worry. He never had an accident and had no trouble holding it until we got outside.
During walks he'd be reactive on leash to dogs walking on the other side of the road. He was easy to redirect and continue the walk without barking. He sniffed some dogs through fences and while he might get overly excited or bark at first, he'd calm down after some sniffs.
Our neighbor's dog barks a lot through the fence but this did not bother Neo, when we were in the yard he was able to ignore the other dog's barks that were being directed at him.
We had Neo for a month and he is the best boy! He loves to cuddle up on the couch and spend time with us. He'd follow us around the house and sleep under the desk while we worked. As much as he loved being near us he was also okay to be left alone, we watched him on the dog cam and he'd just sleep on the couch while we were gone.
Neo also loves toys! He loved to play and have us throw his toys for him. He moves great for an older dog and had no trouble getting on the couch or up stairs by himself. He loves his walks and moves well around the neighborhood, enjoying all the sniffs he can get.
After a year in the shelter you could see how much he LOVED being in a house. He is so sweet and deserves a wonderful, loving home!"
Neo is back on-site and ready for his forever home!
Come meet Neo at Open House this Saturday or Sunday between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm!
