My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, hello! I'm Lita! I am a 4-month-old female Shepherd mix puppy, I weigh 17.2 lbs, and my foster mom said I reminded her of Abuelita's hot chocolate, so ta-da! Perfect name. I was found in a park in San Antonio Texas when I was just a little puppy, and the nice lady who found me is now my foster mom. I have all my puppy vaccines and I'm spayed, microchipped, and ready to move to Connecticut to find a forever family.

I am an active girl who loves cuddles, sunbathing, and chasing my favorite tennis ball. I'm a little shy in new situations but I love everyone young and old and I love playtime with my doggy friends. I love to explore and meet new people and invite them to play tag. I am very curious, and I am looking for a family that loves adventure! My favorite time to eat is all the time. Food makes me jump up and down with excitement (and I might sing a song or two). I can sit, lay down, give paw, and I'm learning how to stay. I'm doing great with my housebreaking lessons and have very few accidents, probably about 90% there. I am smart and eager to please, and I love bedtime cuddles. I love to run (my foster parents say I take off like a little rocket) and practice my commands. I can't wait to meet you and go on all sorts of new adventures!

* We encourage you to email us your #1, #2, and #3 choices, and we will be happy to help you find a pup to complete your family! Also, please continue watching our listings as we post new dogs multiple times a week. There is no need to fill out another application, just let us know what other dogs you are interested in as they come up.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
