My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willow is a sweet and gentle girl with all the love to give. She had a rough start to life, health-wise, but she hasnt let that affect her temperament at all. She is quiet and polite, making her the perfect apartment dog. Her foster parents have only heard her bark one time! Willow can be shy at times, but warms up quickly. Once she comes out of her shell, shes a goofy girl who loves flopping onto her back for belly rubs. Willow LOVES being outside, and would sit on a porch or in a park with you just watching the birds and squirrels go by as long as youd let her. She is also more petite than she appears to be in photos shes got the cutest short little legs. The two kitties in Willow's foster home have really grown on her. One in particular has become a loving companion! Dog-savvy cats are best fit for her. Shes not fostered with other dogs but we think shed like to have a canine sibling to play with, preferably a low-energy or submissive dog. Willow loves playing catch but gets tired quickly and is ready to nap in your lap or on a nice rug. She happily and quietly goes into her crate, and often chooses to nap in there on her own accord. She also tolerates baths and nail trims well as long as you tell her what a good girl she is! Willow is great at communicating her needs and has never had an accident in the house. Nobodys perfect though, and Willow could use some work on her leash manners shes a puller! Shes smart and a people-pleaser, so we think shed pick up these skills quickly. Since being in her foster home shes learned to sit, shake, lay down, stay, and shes working on spin. Shes a fast learner! Willow is a silly, easy-going young lady who would thrive in a variety of types of homes. Shes perfectly happy running around and playing or snoozing the day away. There are no children in her foster home, but shes so gentle we think shed be great with kids. She does jump when shes excited, but has never actually jumped on anybody, just around them. If youre interested in adopting, please submit an application and well be in touch ASAP! Her adoption fee has been partially sponsored and is now only $150. Willow has completed her vet care and can go to her forever home whenever. A meet with any approved adopter's current pets is required before starting the two-week adoption trial. Additional adoption info

SBF adoptions start off with a 2-week trial period to ensure that the SBF dog is a good fit for your family and current pets. The adoption fee is due the day an adopter starts the 2-week trial period. If the adoption does not work out within those two weeks, the adopter will be refunded all but a $50 donation, or they can put the fee towards another adoptable dog.

More about this rescue

Saved by Fate is a dog rescue organization in Central Kentucky that specializes in pulling dogs at high risk of euthanasia from Kentucky shelters. SBF was founded by Mara DeLaus and Ciara Hagedorn in 2022. After years of volunteering for a fellow organization, they saw a significant need for additional rescue resources in their area. SBF is an entirely foster and volunteer based organization that does not have a physical location or kennel at this time.
