My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fanny!

12-year-old Fanny was found wandering outside of someone's house and taken to SEAACA (Downey) Shelter. The shelter reached out to us due to a very large mass hanging from Fanny's chest that needed medical attention beyond what they could provide.

On March 16th, we scooped her up to become a Frosted Face, and she had one of the largest masses we have ever seen, and it was beginning to rupture. Fortunately, her labwork and x-rays indicated surgery was appropriate, so we sent her to Anicira Vet Center where they did a remarkable job removing her mass.

Fanny is doing great and joined us on a FFF hike only days after her surgery (see video.) She is so resilient and forgiving like all of our dogs. She only knows humans to love her, and not to have neglected her care so long to have caused her this pain.

Fanny is incredibly sweet and gets along great with other large dogs, as you can see in the video of her with adoptable Rocky Roux. She is part of a play group with 14 other large Frosted Faces!

Fanny is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, and we're so happy she is enjoying the comforts of home again. Her Fling Mom reports:

"Fanny is a loving and curious girl. She loves lounging on all the soft dog beds in the house, and she loves it even more if you join her on the bed to give her all the pets and scratches!

She is very food motivated and is smart so she is learning all the house routines and rules very quickly. She can hold her pee for long periods of time (8h+).

Fanny loves other dogs. On walks, that's all she wants to do, greet every dog. She sometimes barks to get other dogs' attention, and that can spook some dogs a little. Fanny is generally low energy, but you can get her going at the park and she will run short distances."

If you have a spot in your heart for this special girl and all she has been through, please reach out to us at adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org.
