My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Colette!

10-year-old Collette is a beautiful German Shepherd that was rescued from East Valley-Los Angeles Shelter in November 2023. She has been living in a foster home since then and is now ready for her forever home!

Collette's foster mom shares:

"I have been looking for the right home for Colette since pulling her from the shelter two days before they planned to have her euthanized. She wasn't doing well in the shelter but is now a happy and healthy girl who would do better with more space than I have in my little city apartment.

Colette loves going on road trips and tries to hop in the car whenever she sees it. The longest trip she's been on was nine hours. She does not chew and she does not howl. When left alone, she will lay down and wait for your return. She knows the commands "place", "sit", "stay", "down", and "leave it". Colette is fully potty trained but would do best with a yard that an owner can let her out into.

Colette does well with both cats and dogs. She shares her breakfast with my calm cats but tends to chase my one skittish kitty and cannot understand why she hides from her! Colette loves puppies and playful dogs! Her body is older and slowing down, but her mind is still like a young dog.

Colette is currently prescribed Galliprant for her hips and takes her joint supplements every evening. She can run and walk just fine but struggles with steep stairs. Her bloodwork looks great and she has a healthy appetite for food and life!

Colette would be perfect for a family with a yard who is looking for a family protector dog."

If you are looking for a loving companion with the loyalty of a shepherd and the calm maturity of a senior, please consider adopting Colette!
