Kangaroo is a ridiculously happy 3 year old chihuahua/terrier mix that was found as stray on a cold winter day. Kangaroo lives up to her name! She's a jumping bean of a dog that has energy galore so if you're looking for a lazy lap dog, Roo just isn't the dog for you. Kangaroo is all fun and games and she'll keep you moving and laughing! She is full of spunk and personality. She would be thrilled to be your jogging partner, fetch-player, or running buddy! Kangaroo needs playtime and exercise. Unfortunately, she needs to be an only pet and also needs a home with no kids, due to becoming mouthy occasionally while playing. Kangaroo seriously doesn't have a mean bone in her little body though, so she doesn't mean any harm. Kangaroo is housebroken and she's had training and will sit, lay down, and take treats gently. She bonds with you quickly and is so sweet and affectionate once she gets her jumpies out. She will bring so much joy to your life if you give her a chance! Call 609-693-1900 or email: office@ahsppz.org for an application. File#70076 1/11/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
