My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MARCUS is a sweet and adorable male teenager kitty who is a gray tabby with bold black stripes. He is a bit shy at first, but once you gain his trust, he will run to you for pets and belly rubs, and he enjoys relaxing in your lap. He loves to play, cuddle, and wants to be a big part of his humans' lives. Marcus is fascinated with water! Marcus and his brother Freddy were surrendered by a woman who was fleeing a domestic abuse situation. While they had a rough start in life, the woman and her children adored them and that is why they are both so sweet and affectionate. Marcus is good with Freddy, but he might be OK with another mellow kitty, or as an only cat. It is important that Marcus go to a calm and stable forever home where he will always feel safe and loved.

MARCUS has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet MARCUS, please fill out an Adoption Application for consideration at catrescues.org/adopt, and an adoption counselor will contact you for a possible meet-and-greet at the Eugene Springfield Cat Lounge, 537 W. Centennial Blvd., Springfield. The $155 adoption fee ($280 for Marcus and Freddy together) allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
