He is looking for a home! Rhett Loves to play, he is crate trained, walks well on a leash. Super dog friendly! Isn’t he stunning! Loves to get booty scratches. Needs a fenced in yard.
He is down to 31lbs.

He had lived his life in a trash hoarding house extremely overweight. The freedom of weight loss and companionship will continue for him. Ideally he will have at least one stay at home parent. He will always forage for food because that's how he lived for 5 years. If given the opportunity he will eat himself sick. His old owner had mental illness and would routinely forget to feed or leave the whole bag out for him to eat.
Dog friendly no cats or birds

Interview

1st we do a phone interview and we check your vet references. After that we send the Home Visit offer.

Home Check

Adoption process changed due to Covid. We will be limiting in home visits and required.

More about this rescue

Coastal is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Virginia. We are a foster home based animal Shelter dedicated to finding loving new homes for unwanted, stray, and abandoned Shelties, Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, doodles and other small dogs. We serve Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, eastern West Virginia, and south central Pennsylvania, and are staffed solely by volunteers. We also strive to educate the public about the characteristics of the herding breed and the rewards of giving a home to a rescued dog.

The majority of the Coastal dogs are turned in to us by their previous owners.
