My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Laurel and his brother Hardy were found locally as strays. Unfortunately, no owner claimed them, so they have become Diamonds!  Hardy was lucky enough to bounce into a home quick, but Laurel did not get scooped up. He is still just a baby at a year old, his leash skills have greatly improved, however, he still working on not jumping or counter surfing.  He will require training and patience to learn to be the best boy! Laurel is outgoing and sweet once he takes a few minutes to meet you.  He has been wonderful with every person he meets when given some time and treats!  Laurel also enjoys the company of other dogs and would love and thrive having a canine sibling or two, he currently lives with four other dogs and a human siblings that he adores.  However, no cats or any small animals for this boy as he  has a strong prey drive.

Laurel is very much a husky- high energy and vocal, so needs an active home with another active dog to play with.

More to come when we get to know him more!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require each applicant to complete an adoption application, followed by a home visit. We also contact personal and veterinarian references. We want to make sure that the next home our furbabies go to, is their last, and that they will be loved like a member of the family.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster based rescue, but do also have a small shelter. You can contact us at diamondunderdogs@yahoo.com to setup an appointment to come out and check out some of our adoptables.

More about this rescue

Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue is a non profit animal rescue organization that is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. Our mission is to protect the welfare of animals, one life at a time, from unnecessary euthanasia. From high kill shelters to foster homes to caring adoptive families, Diamonds in the Ruff handles every aspect of the rescue process. Our animals are examined, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and receive necessary medical treatment. Foster homes are used to provide sanctuary and ensure a successful placement. Our goal is to make the adoption process a kind, informative and rewarding experience because we believe that every animal can become a treasured family pet.

Why we do it:
4 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States.
That is 300,000 a month
Over 11,000 each day
Diamonds in the Ruff Animal Rescue works tirelessly to decrease this statistic.
