Dobby is a sweet, shy girl with a gentle and nurturing soul. She'd be the perfect companion for a family who wants a quiet, friendly pet with good manners. She enjoys snuggling with her head on your lap and getting lots of love. She has mastered leash walking and will be your shadow where ever you are, she wants to be.

Dobby is not in the main public section of the shelter, so be sure to ask for him by name if you come to visit him!

All adoptions must be done in person. Prospective adopters must meet the pet and complete the adoption application and questionnaire during the initial visit to our shelter at 2802 W Central Park Ave, Davenport, IA.

The Humane Society of Scott County (HSSC) has been an advocate for the humane care of all animals in Scott County, Iowa, since 1902.

An average of 500 pets arrive at the HSSC each month. About 80% come to us as strays and the rest are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep or care for their pets.

The HSSC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization funded entirely by donations, adoption fees and a fee charged to the city and county for the care of the animals.
