My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Laverne is a lovable, 10 year old, female, Maltese. She joined MHCR as a transfer from another CO shelter where she came in as part of a large surrender. Laverne is house trained, good with respectful children, and has really taken to her foster dad. His chest is her favorite to snuggle on. Laverne is dog friendly and while she doesn’t love her crate she will tolerate it. She’d likely do best on a quiet home with another dog or two and a secure yard.

Laverne is in foster in Loveland, Colorado.

*We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. *

Mile High Canine Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3, Colorado non-profit organization established in 2019. We are 100% volunteer run and foster home based. MHCR aims to provide abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs a loving home to grow and learn in until a suitable forever home is found. While in foster care, our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested/treated, microchipped, and vaccinated. We rescue dogs from Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.
