Let me introduce you to Mia, an American Pit Bull/ Staffordshire Bull Terrier girl that arrived on 4/19 at the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray. Mia weighs 45 pounds, and is approximately 5-6 years old. It seems as though she has not received the best of care as can be seen by the scrapes on her face, her scruffy fur, some flaky scaly skin, underweight and her teeth are not in the best shape. But she has the personality and energy of a younger dog and enjoyed romping about and exploring in the yard. She walks fine on a leash. She pottied in the yard. She has a moderate activity level and will jump on you. She has had at least one litter of pups and has possibly been used for breeding. She loves treats and takes them politely. She is friendly and is a-OK with being petted. When I led her back to her kennel, she reacted to a dog that was barking at her. Therefore it would be a good idea to ask the shelter staff for a dog test. Will you please help Mia's stay at the shelter to be a brief one?
