My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Searching for a sweet dog to add to your family that is filled with personality? Look no further! Harley is a fun-loving playful boy that is ready to win the hearts of his new family.

~ Harley would love an active family that can give him plenty of daily exercise and enrichment.
~ Harley is looking for a family that can take him to training or sign-up with GoodPup for a scholarship (adoption staff are happy to explain how to go through this process). He needs to work on his manners, continue basic training and socialization.
~ Harley is looking for a family consisting of a single person, a couple or a family with older children due to his lack of manners.
~ He can be a little shy/timid at first but when he comes out of his shell he is a bundle of love and goofiness.

Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed:
- High Energy
- Mouthy
- Jumpy
- Nervous/Shy
- Under-Socialized

Explanation of Behaviours:
- Harley is a young and active dog that will need plenty of daily exercise, enrichment, training and stimulation to set him up for success.
- Harley can be a little shy/nervous with new people and more specifically when in new environments or situations. His new family will need to work with him to help build his confidence and comfort with new things.
- Harley is under-socialized and his new family will have to slowly and safely socialize him to the world around him in a positive way.
- Once comfortable Harley can be jumpy and mouthy when excited/playing. His new family will need to work with him through training on difficult behaviours.

This dog would benefit from:
- Active home
- Lots of training and socialization
- Lots of time and attention
- A family with older children

Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog:
- Basic training
- Basic manners- Jumping up, Mouthing
- Socialization

**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact
sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions

**Please remember that animals are coming back from foster care to the centres for their meet and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
