My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Zandra was brought in by a community member on December 3, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Zandra, an energetic dog, looking for a family willing to invest time and effort in her. Zandra has enjoyed the company of other dogs and ideally, her new home would have a resident dog that matches her energy and size. Zandra is a playful puppy at heart, showcasing her love for toys and daily zoomies in the yard. While Zandra's exuberance may be too much for young children and small pets, she's quite fun and playful in the right setting. Despite her nervous disposition in new surrounds and around unfamiliar faces, she's ready to blossom with the right family. Once comfortable, she'll hang out on the couch with you and even try to snuggle in your lap! She's still a young gal, so potty training remains a work in progress. She requires a patient household willing to continue guiding her in this area through positive reinforcement training. Zandra's playful spirit is eager for a new home, and with the right match, she promises to be a wonderful addition to you home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
