This natural sweetie is Agave! He's a five year old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who weighs a perfect 19 pounds. He's a great work from home buddy, and wants to snooze or get belly rubs and just generally be near you. He's house trained and settles into his crate for sleeping pretty quickly (although he'd prefer to be on your bed with you)! He hasn't been reactive to dogs on the street, and is getting used to all the new city smells and walking on a leash. Agave is a bit shy with new people, but once he's in your pack he'll be your bestie!

The best way to meet our pups is via private meetings or at adoption events. We host these weekly at various locations around NYC.

Hearts & Bones Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based rescue with dual bases in New York City, NY and Dallas, TX. We are dedicated to ending the needless euthanasia of shelter dogs through direct lifesaving, shared learning, and community building. Our incredible network of rescue partners, fosters, volunteers, and a small but mighty staff work together to save dogs in the areas where shelters are under the greatest stress, and unite them with loving adopters ready to give them the lives they deserve.
