Shadow is a gentle, sensitive dog who is learning what it means to feel safe in the world — and he’s making steady, meaningful progress with the right kind of support.
He is almost 5 years old and is a medium sized dog around 45 lbs. DNA breed results coming soon!
Shadow can be nervous at first, especially outdoors or in unfamiliar situations, and will need a calm, patient adopter who understands that confidence takes time. Shadow is still learning leash skills and does best with routine, clear boundaries, and a steady presence that helps him regulate when things feel overwhelming.
Once Shadow feels secure, his true personality shines. He forms deep bonds, shows genuine affection, and enjoys quiet companionship — often choosing to relax close to his person. He is friendly with other dogs once he’s comfortable in the space and absolutely loves toys, which bring out his playful side.
Shadow is house trained, crate trained, and continuing to learn that comfort and safety can exist beyond hiding away from the world. He would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with a securely fenced yard and an adopter who values gentle, trust-based progress over rushing milestones. Experience with nervous or sensitive dogs is a huge plus.
Shadow is looking for someone willing to support and love him as he continues to grow and gain confidence.
