Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Latte
Breed: Australian Cattle Dog Mix
Age: 1 years old +/-
Weight: 45 lbs
Medical: Up To Date on Vaccinations, microchipped, neutered
Cat Friendly: No
Dog Friendly: Yes
Kid Friendly: Yes, Recommend 10+
House Trained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Location: Maine
Latte is the epitome of a cattle dog. Energetic, vocal, strong, busy and very forthcoming with his affection towards people. He will even sit in chairs with you and get as close as possible in bed. Body slamming is another way he shows his love for you. If you're playing tug of war, he will always be the champ! Fetch is his all-time favorite, and he will go get the ball and bring it back for hours if you wanted. Anything you're doing he wants to do. Playing in or with water or even jumping on a trampoline.
Latte loves children and their energy but older children only, due to his rough play. Recommend that he is the only dog or with another of the same nature. He can get distracted by herding or wrestling the other dog which deters his listening skills. No cats or small animals. He is crate trained and very good with learning new things. A strict food and potty schedule work best for him. Happiness radiates off of him, and he would do well with someone who can match his energy and strength.
He is a great listener and crates well. He does still need more leash training. He has a lot of possibilities; this sweet boy is a blank slate looking for a job! If you enjoy doing dog sports, this would be your boy!

CRNE Adoption Application:

Once your application has been received and reviewed, you will be contacted via email or phone by one of our volunteers. After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions you may have and determine if that dog is a good match for your family.
If you have no particular dog in mind, we will be happy to keep your application on file and notify you if the right dog should come into rescue. Catahoula Rescue of New England is an all-volunteer group. Dogs in our program are fostered by volunteers. The foster homes care for our dogs as if they were their own. All dogs have received vaccinations appropriate to age and are spayed or neutered.
Latte’s adoption donation is $300 which includes Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella, fecal test, heartworm test, is on preventative, microchip and neuter depending on age at time of adoption. If the dog is too young for a spay/neuter then they will be adopted with a spay/neuter contract and deposit. We do not have a physical shelter; all our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes across the New England and Canada.

Additional adoption info
We have a written application followed by a phone interview. If the applicant is approved past this point then we check 2 personal references as well as their vet reference. If they rent we speak with their landlord as well. If all is well at this point then we do a home check. The final step is a meet and greet where the adopter and the household, including dogs travel to meet the new adoptive dog. If all goes well they can adopt. There is an adoption contract and the adoption fee ranges between $200-400 depending on the fees that we put into the particular dog.

We support local "ma & pa" business before the big box chains since many of us come from some communities. We also attended fairs and "meet & greet" events.
