Vera is an affectionate and well-behaved dog who has quickly become a cherished member of her foster home. She loves to play and cuddle with her family and is always eager for attention. Though she's a strong walker, Vera has been making great progress in her leash skills. She's highly food-motivated and excited to learn new tricks. Vera adores meeting new people and never hesitates to ask for pets and belly rubs, making her a lovable and friendly companion.

"Vera’s doing great! She’s gained some healthy weight and is having a blast in our cozy apartment. She’s been on a few long drives to my parents’ place, and she’s totally smitten with their bigger home and yard. She’d love a yard where she can run and play to her heart’s content and a home where there are multiple people she can show love and affection to. She’s loves to cuddle, but she’s also got good boundaries. If you ask her to stay in her bed, she’ll respect your space. She’s super food-motivated, so treats are a must for working on her walking, good behavior, and tricks. She’s a pro at crating, and she sleeps like a baby through the night."

Border Tails Rescue is a licensed no-kill animal rescue and welfare organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of stray dogs across the world, with a unique focus on Mexico. Border Tails Rescue has a physical shelter facility with dogs on site for viewing everyday. Border Tails Rescue primarily works with rural shelters across the country, including but not limited to TX, AR, AL, LA, KY, IN, and MI on a regular basis as well as CACC, Chicago’s open intake shelter. BTR is Woman-founded by Harleigh Garcia, who was 20 years old at the time. The organization was founded in December of 2019 and Border Tails Rescue is registered with Illinois Secretary of State as a non profit organization. Border Tails Rescue operates entirely on donations and adoption fees.
