My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

(DOB10/25/2023) Hope, my beautiful baby girl with the piercing baby blues, is truly one of a kind. Everyone is amazed at the color of this girls eyes; she is definitely a head turner!

This girl is incredibly smart—one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever had! She knows tons of commands, including sit, lay, stay, off, leave it, down, shake, up up, and easy. She’s very food-motivated and eager to please, which makes continued training a breeze. She's fully house-trained and crate-trained (though she doesn’t need to be crated).

Hope has a high energy level and absolutely loves being outside. Her favorite thing in the world is sunbathing in the yard. Because of her energy, a fenced-in yard or even a farm would be ideal for her. She thrives with space to run, sniff, and explore. She's not just energetic, though—she has a deeply sweet and loving side. She does great with other dogs, especially when introductions are done slowly and properly. Puppies are her absolute favorite—she adores them!

She’s also wonderful with kids and has a gentle nature once she warms up. It does take her a little time to feel comfortable around new people, and she may avoid eye contact at first—that’s just her way of protecting herself while she figures out if she’s safe. But once she knows you’re kind, she will love you fiercely.

Hope is truly a gem—a beautiful, brainy, and loyal companion who just needs the right person or family to help her shine. If you’re looking for an active, affectionate, and deeply rewarding best friend, Hope might just be the perfect fit.

All she needs is someone with patience, compassion, and the willingness to show her she’s safe and loved. Hope is a happy, go-lucky pup who loves to be around her family. Hope is sweet, playful, and adaptable – she’s ready to be your best friend!  She is just looking for her #1 family to find her.

As part of Hope’s $300 adoption fee, she is spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Hope, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.
