Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Peter – A Tenderhearted Gentleman Looking for a Foster and or Adopter to Love Him
There’s something special about Peter — a quiet, soulful dog who just wants to be understood. This lovely gentleman came to APA! from the Austin Animal Center, and while he’s been doing his best in the shelter, Peter’s heart is longing for the calm and comfort of a real home.
Peter is attentive, gentlemanly, and a little introspective — the kind of dog who thinks before he acts and appreciates people who do the same. He knows his sit, shake, and come commands, walks beautifully on leash, and is fully house-trained. Treats make him light up, and he’ll happily show off his good manners for one!
The busy shelter can be a bit much for Peter. He’s a sensitive soul who shows the most love and admiration for friends who show patience and gentleness when getting to know him. Once he feels safe and understood, though, he relaxes into the sweetest companion — calm, affectionate, and quietly devoted.
What Peter needs most right now is a patient, peaceful foster or forever home where he can exhale and rediscover what it means to trust. With time and tenderness, you’ll see the best of him: his soft eyes, his silly side, and his deep, loyal love.
APA! provides almost everything you need to foster — all Peter needs is you.
