Sterling is a tiny girl that's stolen the hearts of everyone who’s met her. Truly one of the sweetest, most gentle and well mannered rabbits at Wayward. Sterling adores cuddles & being near her people. No attitude. No quirks. Just a soft, soulful bunny in desperate need of someone to see her, and know she belongs, where she's safe and she's loved.
Bunnies don't just thump-they can whisper, hum and purr. Purring is soft tooth grinding-like a tiny cat purr telling you 'I'm relaxed and love this.' Whispering & humming is sound that's rare but magical. It means 'I feel safe and content." Sterling communicates with WHISPERS-the only bun in 4 years we've been lucky enough to witness firsthand.
She moves with a calm grace, no zoomies here. (Sterling believes such things aren’t ladylike.) She enjoys exploring safe spaces she’ll quietly sneak underfoot to see what you’re up to.
Sterling eagerly hops in your lap for daily green & delivers plenty of kisses in return. This girl is a morning, afternoon, and evening snuggler who enjoys lying nose to nose for petting.
Her favorite toys include the Oxbow cupcake and an XL cardboard box. She also enjoys a good apple stick, especially if you hold it for her.
Sterling’s preferred diet includes cilantro, soft orchard grass hay, timothy hay, celery, banana, and fresh green leaf lettuce. She recently discovered a love for apples and Whole Foods fresh lettuces… but green peppers? Hard pass.
She’s a mirror loving princess who enjoys admiring her reflection—and we get it. When you’re this cute, how could you not?

More about this rescue
We are a rescue for HIGH RISK rabbits. Most have been confiscated by animal control or from other life and death situations. Our bunnies were forgotten, neglected, or worse. These bunnies have been through some nightmare situations.
Adoption includes:
* spay or neuter
* RHDV vaccination
* vet and health care given during foster as needed
* good bunny behaviors and socialization addressed during foster
We've saved their lives, nurtered them back to health and help them to trust humans again. They're now ready to find their PERSON. They're ready to experience what BUN LIFE is meant to be, and to show you how much entertainment and love they can give. If you're interested in applying for adoption or becoming a foster, we're here to help you every step of the way.
PLEASE NOTE that due to the volume of rabbits coming in directly from animal control, WR is NOT able to take in owner surrenders. We WILL try our best to help you through whatever issues you are having so that you can keep your rabbit as a beloved companion pet. DO contact us for advice!
