My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yo. I’m LB.
Short for “Lightning Bolt,” but let’s be clear, I’ve got a bigger personality and a stubby tail that only adds to my charm.

I’m 3.5 years old, sleek, black, and built for speed (and mischief). I’m the kind of cat that other cats love; playful, full of energy, and always down for a game of chase or a nap pile with my crew. I thrive in a home with other feline friends, the more the merrier.

Now let’s talk humans. I’m not the type to fall in love on the first date. I need time, patience, and people who respect my space. But if you give me that, I’ll give you glimpses of my wild, goofy, lovable self... and trust me, it’s worth it. I’ve got a spunky streak, a fearless attitude, and a ton of love to give once I know you're cool.

If you're looking for a confident cat who marches to the beat of his own drum (and maybe knocks a few things off your shelf while doing it), I might just be your guy.

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
