My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey. I’m Luna.
I’m almost 5 years old, black and white, and full of opinions.

I’m not shy, let’s just say... I’m selective. I’ll walk right up to you, check you out, maybe even give you a little head bump... but that doesn’t mean we’re best friends yet. I like to take my time when it comes to trusting humans, think of me as a cat who dates before she commits.

Now, let’s talk about affection. I do enjoy pets and attention, but I also have boundaries. I’ll let you know when I’m done with a polite (or not-so-polite) little love bite. It’s my way of saying, “That’s enough, thank you.” If you’re a seasoned cat person who speaks fluent feline, you’ll get me.

I’m confident, independent, and have no problem doing my own thing. But once I decide you’re part of my inner circle, I’ll greet you, hang out nearby, and even offer my belly (no promises on how long that lasts).

If you’re looking for a cat with personality, sass, and a bit of mystery... someone who chooses you, not the other way around... then we just might be a perfect match.

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
