Nala’s journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s shaped her into a resilient and loving companion. We first met her when she was living with her unhoused owner. In that uncertain world, Nala became a fierce little protector, always looking out for her person and watching over the places they called home. Because of this, she can be a bit cautious with new people—but give her a little time and patience, and you`ll see her walls melt away. Once she trusts you, she’ll greet you with tail wags, toys, and so much love.
We did everything we could to reunite Nala with her original owner, but despite the efforts of many, it just wasn’t possible. So now, after nearly a year in foster care and time in boarding, Nala is more than ready for her next chapter—a real, stable forever home where she can finally put down roots and just be a dog.
Nala is about 35 pounds, fully vaccinated, spayed, and heartworm negative. She’s a healthy girl with a playful spirit and a huge heart.
She absolutely lives for playtime—especially when she gets the chance to zoom around the big dog yard at CAA. She also adores snuggling, playing with toys (especially when showing them off), and hanging out with her dog and cat friends. Her signature move? Grabbing a toy the second you walk into the room and racing over to say hello.
Nala has waited longer than most, but she hasn’t given up—and neither have we. We know the right home is out there for her. Could it be with you?
Nala is currently in foster care outside of the shelter. If you are interested in learning more or meeting her, please complete an adoption survey using the link below (copy and paste link):
All dogs and cats will be spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, preventative care, and microchipped.
