My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coco and her siblings were 8 weeks old when they became court cases with animal control charges of animal cruelty. They have been in foster for the past 22 months and were just released to be available for adoption.

Coco's journey to find her forever home has been one of resilience and love. This beautiful girl had a tragic start, as she and her siblings became court cases with charges of severe abuse and neglect when they were just a few weeks old. In April 2023, Coco and two of her siblings came into a wonderful woman's care as foster babies. Since then, Coco has blossomed in a happy and safe environment, surrounded by her brother and sister. Coco has shown incredible strength and love despite her dicult beginnings. She deserves a forever home where she can continue to thrive and bring joy to her new family.

About Coco:
- Coco is almost 2 years old, weighs approximately 66 pounds. She is spayed, up to date and has all her vaccination
and is heartworm negative.

- Crate Trained & Housebroken: No accidents
- Obedient: Coco knows basic commands like sit, wait, treat, and get in, working on stay.
- Great Sleeper: Coco sleeps 8 hours a night in her crate, giving you peace and quiet.
- Friendly: Coco plays well with her siblings and my daughter's dogs.
- Energy Levels: Coco has medium to high energy; she loves walks around the neighborhood.
- Loving & Affectionate: Coco is a real Velcro buddy who loves to cuddle and be close to her humans. - Social: Coco loves people she knows but needs a few minutes to warm up to new people.
- Food & Treat Motivated: Coco is easily motivated by food and treats.
- Prey: Coco likes to chase squirrels, so a watchful eye is needed.
- Not Tested with Cats: Coco hasn't been tested with cats yet.
- Fenced Backyard Preferred: Coco would love a secure backyard to play in.
- Solo or Pack: Coco may thrive as an only dog or with a compatible canine companion.

To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

We are 100% volunteer/foster based, so we do ask that you complete an adoption application in order for us to schedule a phone interview.

2.

Interview

After reviewing your application, we'll contact you to determine if dog is a good fit for your lifestyle and home.

3.

Approve Application

We check vet and personal references to ensure previous dogs were well cared for, so please be thorough in providing this info.

4.

Home Check

This enables the dog to get to know you and your home and for us to suggest anything they may need to be successful in your home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

You would also pay the fee at this time, however, we offer a 2 week trial period before cashing your check. We will always take dogs back.

Additional adoption info

You will be asked to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/dh-adoption) and allow a home visit to ensure the pet is a good fit for your home/lifestyle.

We are primarily a placement service, so the adoption fees vary depending on each pet and what caretakers have invested medically and behaviorally to ensure they are adoption-ready.

Go meet their pets

Doggie Harmony does not hold regular adoption events, but follow our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/doggieharmony) for special events. We also encourage you to contact us about pets you may be interested in, as we are always willing to bring them to meet you.

We do not have a shelter, so please understand that we are only able to support animals with foster homes or donations toward short-term boarding.

More about this rescue

Doggie Harmony is a metro-Atlanta dog rescue group focused on finding the right homes for dogs in foster care or belonging to owners who wish to re-home them. Our core objective is to place these dogs before they are turned over to animal control facilities, where they may be euthanized. Lastly, Doggie Harmony supports spay/neuter, wellness, and training to help keep or place dogs. This includes helping people find low cost resources and/or lending financial support where there's a qualified need.
