My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At just over a year old, Barbara is a gentle, shy soul. It's clear she hasn’t had many interactions with people in the past. It takes her a while to warm up to people. There is no aggression there, she just will hang back and let other dogs get the attention. She watches from a distance, quietly longing for love, but too shy to ask for it. When she is alone with people, she slowly comes close.

Despite her timid nature, there's a spark in Barbara that says she's ready to blossom with the right person. Everyone in her presence is drawn to her.

Barbara will need a patient, compassionate adopter who can help her feel safe and show her that love isn’t something to be afraid of. She will never be a dark park dog, but in a quiet home, she will be a good companion.

Barbara is good with other dogs. There is a dog in her foster home which she gravitates to. One other dog in the home will help Barbara feel more secure.

Barbara is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200.

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Whether a potential adopter meets the dog at an adoption event or sees them online, we need an adoption application to begin the process

2.

Interview

The second step is a phone call so I can tell the adopter all about the dog, and find out more about their lifestyle.

3.

Home Check

The most important step! All members of the house hold need to be there. I check the yard and the home.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

We let them know we will keep the dog chipped to us and that if they can't keep the dog, he/she comes back to us. Adoption fee is collected

5.

Take the Pet Home

We check in with a couple days, a couple weeks and a month after they adopt to make sure the dog is adjusting well and give any help needed

Additional adoption info

Step 1 - submit an application
Step 2 - Have a phone interview
Step 3 - Home check
Step 4 - Sign adoption contract
Step 5 - Take your new family member home.
Step 6 - We will be checking in a couple days, a couple weeks and a month post adoption to make sure the dog is adjusting to his/her new home.
