**Meet Gweedo – the World’s Happiest Paraplegic Pup!**
Gweedo is a 4-year-old, 60–70 lb bundle of sunshine with a heart as big as his smile. Life hasn’t always been kind to him, but you’d never know it by the way he greets each day with pure joy. This special boy has been at the ranch for a while now, patiently waiting for his forever family while playing the loving role of “Uncle Gweedo” to countless puppies who’ve come and gone. Now it’s *his* turn.
Gweedo may have some mobility challenges—he’s a tripod with only his front legs fully functioning—but don’t let that fool you. He zooms around in his wheelchair like a pro and has mastered scooting around when he’s feeling extra cozy. His spirit? Absolutely unstoppable.
He’s never met a stranger—just future friends. Gweedo adores people of all ages and gets along beautifully with other dogs, though he’d be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. As long as you’ve got some treats and a hand ready for pets, you’ll have a best friend for life. Just a heads-up: he *might* accidentally run over your toes in all his excitement!
We understand that adopting a dog with special needs can feel intimidating, but Gweedo has his routine down and is ready to roll right into your heart. No dog deserves a second chance more than this guy—and we promise, giving it to him will be one of the best things you ever do.
Gweedo is looking for a home that sees just how EXTRA special he truly is. Are you that someone?

More about this rescue
Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization; obtained our 501(c)3 in 2011 - ID #27-0810495
Located in Anza, CA
Kathy Haley had originally started as a rescue for abused and neglected large animals such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, pigs, and more. At the time, she was also a volunteer at a dog rescue. After learning about the importance of rescue work, Kathy saw an opportunity to help by employing her own ideas about animal welfare, rescue and care taking the "whole animal," mind, body and spirit into consideration. A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe. Kathy and Lisa had so many ideas, dreams, and goals in common. They instantly clicked and that was when Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, was born in 2011 and have been going strong since.
At Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and euthanasia listed animals that deserve a second chance and need us the most.
All of our animals are:
Spayed/Neutered
Current on all vaccines
Rabies Vaccinated
Dewormed
Micro-chipped (lifetime registered & paid)
Received all proper medical care when needed (surgeries, dentals, medications, grooming, etc)
While many of our animals are sanctuary or "permanent residents", we do have lots of adoptable pets who are patiently waiting for their forever homes.
We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are in foster homes in and around the Temecula, CA area. They have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night.
This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family.
Because the sanctuary is also our home, we do not have regular public visiting hours but we do have many visitors.
We just have to arrange it to fit the schedule of our animals, ourselves, and you.
