My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Prancer — the gentle soul who’s been through the wringer but still wags her tail.

Prancer came to Hope Ranch as a tiny, wiggly puppy with a whole lifetime of love ahead of her. She was adopted, and for years she thought she had it all — a warm bed, a family, belly rubs on demand. But one day, she found herself in the cold kennels of a local shelter. She was microchipped, and the shelter called her family. They never came.

But here’s the thing about Hope Ranch — we never turn our backs on our dogs. We scooped Prancer up and brought her home like the treasure she is, and now we’re on a mission to find her a forever forever home.

Prancer is a 4-year-old pit/shepherd mix with the sweetest eyes and the softest heart. She’s understandably a little shy at first, but never a hint of aggression. In fact, her best buddy here is a tiny chihuahua who bosses her around like a drill sergeant (and she lets him!). She’s house trained, gentle with kids, and has perfected the art of quiet companionship.

Her one big dislike? Being crated in the car. She’d much prefer not to travel that way, though she’s a polite passenger once you reach your destination.

Prancer is looking for a patient family who will give her the time she needs to remember what trust feels like — and in return, she will give you more love than you ever thought one dog could hold. She’s not just looking for a home. She’s looking for her family. And this time, she’s hoping it's forever.

More about this rescue

Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit organization; obtained our 501(c)3 in 2011 - ID #27-0810495
Located in Anza, CA

Kathy Haley had originally started as a rescue for abused and neglected large animals such as donkeys, llamas, alpacas, pigs, and more. At the time, she was also a volunteer at a dog rescue. After learning about the importance of rescue work, Kathy saw an opportunity to help by employing her own ideas about animal welfare, rescue and care taking the "whole animal," mind, body and spirit into consideration. A few years later, she met Lisa Ashe. Kathy and Lisa had so many ideas, dreams, and goals in common. They instantly clicked and that was when Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization, was born in 2011 and have been going strong since.

At Hope Ranch Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to taking in abused, neglected, and euthanasia listed animals that deserve a second chance and need us the most.

All of our animals are:
Spayed/Neutered
Current on all vaccines
Rabies Vaccinated
Dewormed
Micro-chipped (lifetime registered & paid)
Received all proper medical care when needed (surgeries, dentals, medications, grooming, etc)

While many of our animals are sanctuary or "permanent residents", we do have lots of adoptable pets who are patiently waiting for their forever homes.
We are unique in the fact that our dogs do not live in kennels; instead they live with us in our home on about 5 acres of property located in Anza, CA or they are in foster homes in and around the Temecula, CA area. They have full access to our home and property and sleep inside with us at night.
This ensures that our pets are well adjusted and perfectly suited to become a part of your family.

Because the sanctuary is also our home, we do not have regular public visiting hours but we do have many visitors.
We just have to arrange it to fit the schedule of our animals, ourselves, and you.
