My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

At 17 pounds, Han is a big, silly, sweet boy with a laid-back personality - a 'gentle giant.' He’s lived successfully with other cats, dogs, and young kids, and does well with them — he just needs them to respect his space. He's more of a couch potato than a lap cat. He'll find the comfiest spots around the house to lay around all day. He loves being pet and hanging out nearby you. Feather toys are a favorite, and he enjoys bird-watching from the window. Easygoing and calm, he would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a relaxed, affectionate (but not clingy) cat. Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
