Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Looking for a Smart, Loyal Companion with Tons of Personality?
Meet Arty! I'm a small wire-coated dog with a big heart and an even bigger personality. I'm the kind of dog who forms deep, meaningful bonds with my people—and when I love you, I love you completely.
What Makes Me Special
I'm incredibly affectionate with people I trust. Once we've built our connection, I'll be your devoted shadow—curling up beside you for movie nights, greeting you with pure joy when you come home, and gazing at you like you're my whole world. My foster mom says I have more love to give than dogs twice my size.
I'm also smart and independent, which means I'm great at entertaining myself and don't need constant attention. I know what I like and I'm not shy about it, which my foster family finds endearing (and often hilarious).
What I'm Looking For
The perfect home for me is with someone who appreciates a dog with character. I do best with:
An experienced dog owner who understands that good things take time
A calm, patient person who will let our bond develop naturally
Someone who enjoys a dog with personality and independence
A home where I can be the center of attention (I prefer being the only pet)
My Ideal Day
Includes cozy time on the couch, walks at a relaxed pace, playtime on my terms, and lots of quality time with my favorite person—you!
I might take a little time to settle in, but I promise the wait is worth it. When I choose you, you'll have a loyal, loving companion for life.

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
