My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to love you with his whole heart?

Hi there, I’m Leroy!

I’ve been on my own for a while now, and honestly, I’m ready to find where I belong. The staff folks say I’m the “perfect size” – not too big, not too small, just right for snuggling on the couch or going on adventures together. I think they might be onto something.

What I want most in this world is pretty simple: a person or family who will help me feel safe. I’ve had to be pretty tough out there on the streets, but deep down, I’m just a dog who wants to curl up next to someone and know that everything’s going to be okay. I dream about those quiet evenings where I can rest my head on your lap and finally let my guard down.

The best part? I get along great with other dogs! So if you already have a pup at home, I’d love to be their new best friend. I know what it’s like to be alone, and I think having a buddy would make settling into my new life even better.

I’m ready to trade my wandering days for a warm bed, regular meals, and all the love and snuggles you can give. Could you be the one I’ve been searching for?
Love,
Leroy

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
