My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Woody is a playful puppy with energy to spare and love to give. He thrives on activity and would do best in a home with another playful pup or active human who is ready to match his enthusiasm. He is a total rockstar in his kennel and knows when it is time to rest up. He's curious, goofy and full of potential.

Him and his foster brother enjoy rough play with each other every day and enjoy dog friends. Woody is nosy, literally, about other dogs but in a friendly way and he is generally respectful towards adult dogs and has adjusted well in groups. Naturally he can be annoying to some when he wants them to play.

Woody likes kids of all ages. He is pretty good with them but can be too energetic around them and may nip at clothing while playing.

He has not been around cats that we know of.

Male, about 5-6 months old, maybe mixed with some Lab.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Please send us an e mail or message through our Facebook Page Northern Star Dog Rescue and we will send you a Pre Adoption/Foster App.

2.
Approve Application

Once we look over your application and background check and everything looks good we will contact you to approve your application!

3.
Interview

We will contact you once your application is approved and discuss what dog would be the best fit for you and your family.

4.
Meet the Pet

We will schedule a time to do a meet and greet with you and any current animals you have with your potential new pet.

5.
Home Check

We will schedule a home check when we schedule your meet and greet.

6.
Take the Pet Home

Once the meet and greet is done you will start our mandatory 2 week adoption trial to determine if it is a good fit for both you and the dog

7.
Pay Fee

If trial goes well the adoption is finalized. Puppies wait until after they are spayed/neutered as arranged by the rescue.

Go meet their pets

Since we are a foster based rescue and don’t have a shelter all meet and greets must be scheduled and walk-ins are not an option. We will travel throughout the Treasure Valley and surrounding areas/states if that means the dog will find their forever home! When we host adoption/community events we will always post them on our Facebook Page Northern Star Dog Rescue.

More about this rescue

We are Northern Star Dog Rescue, a completely foster based non profit dog rescue! We specifically pull all of our dogs from the euthanasia list (most are there due to no fault of their own) and dogs that are homeless or in bad housing conditions. We take them in and place them in foster homes until we can find them their forever homes! We do what we do because our team has a STRONG love for animals especially those that are in dire situations.
